Opportunities to Sign the Petition 

To volunteer at any of the dates below, register on the EVENTS page.  If the event is not yet posted, you can email us at info@portagecommunityrightsgroup.org and we'll remind you closer to the date, once the event is posted.

Garrettsville Business Village Bookstore supports giving Portage voters the right to decide by ballot on the Portage County Charter.   Whenever the store is open, you can go in and sign a petition.

 

April 15.  Sunday.  Who's Your Mama Film Festival.  Kent Student Center-KIVA.

April 19.  Thursday.  Panel on Redistricting at Kent United Church of Christ.

April 21.  Saturday.  Who's Your Mama Street Festival.  Kent Main St.

April 26.  Thursday.  Hiram Health Fest Talk.  Hiram College.

April 28.  Saturday.  Portage Environmental Conservation Awards Dinner.

May 5.  Saturday.  FaCT statewide meeting.   This might be a good place to recruit signature collectors.  Any Ohio registered voter can collect signatures.

May 5. Saturday.   Kent Haymaker Farmers' Market.   8:30 a.m. set up table and tent.  Market begins 9-1.  Whether we have a table and tent or are in the parking lots, we should have someone at the market every Saturday.

May 8.  Tuesday.  Ohio Primary Election.   We will target several polling places in Kent and Ravenna which have multiple precincts and good places for signature collectors.

May 12.  Saturday.  Kent Haymaker Farmers' Market.   8:30 a.m. set up table and tent.  Market begins 9-1.  Whether we have a table and tent or are in the parking lots, we should have someone at the market every Saturday.

June 29. Friday.   Sidewalk cinema.  Kent Hometown Bank Plaza.

 

June 29.  Collect outstanding petitions; if turned into the Board of Election on this date, we can get an advanced validation of the number of  signatures and have a little more time to collect more if necessary.

June 30.  Saturday.  Kent Heritage Festival.  -Time: 9:00 AM - 11:00 PM EDT ---Website: http://www.kentbiz.com   With a start time of 9 am, the day long event will feature over 100 craft vendors, information booths and another 30 food vendors with something for every type of taste and appetite.  There’s activities for kids and live entertainment all day long on three stages.  The event wraps up at 10 pm with fireworks downtown.
