ENVISIONING THE FUTURE

Green New Deal

Although the Green New Deal is associated with Democratic politicians, It is by no means a settled policy of the National Democratic Party.  Given PCRG's core concern for the Rights of Nature, it is understandable that we support the direction taken by the GND.  Therefore, we present information about the policies recommended and  urge everyone to learn more about it.

According to Wikipedia, "The Green New Deal (GND) is a proposed package of United States legislation that aims to address climate change and economic inequality.[1][2][3][4] The name refers back to the New Deal, a set of social and economic reforms and public works projects undertaken by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in response to the Great Depression.[5] The Green New Deal combines Roosevelt's economic approach with modern ideas such as renewable energy and resource efficiency.[6][7]"

The five blue  boxes below are the five major goals of the GND.  Click on any of them will take you to the full broad statement of the Green New Deal.

The big question, of course, is how to pay for it.  Clicking on the box below will lead you to a talk recently given, as well as resources for understanding why we need it and how we can't afford not to enact it, as well as how it could get paid for.

We need to keep in mind that the Old Normal was how we got into multiple crises, so change must happen.
